Other important information:

The maximum altitude reached is 5645 metres and the trekking grade is moderate to challenging in parts. A reasonably high level of fitness is required.

This is one of the best treks to get an extensive experience of the Everest region.

After a few days sightseeing in Kathmandu we fly to Lukla to start the trek. We follow the Dudh Koshi Valley to the town of Namche Bazaar, the commercial centre of the Khumbu region.

Passing through friendly Sherpa villages we trek high into the mountains to the hidden valley of Gokyo with its beautiful glacial lakes. The views of the mountains and lakes from Gokyo Ri are spectacular.

We cross the Ngozumba Glacier, the largest in Nepal, and take the steep climb up and over Cho La Pass and on to Everest Base Camp.

Climb Kala Pattar, which provides the best vantage point to view Mt. Everest in addition to many of the other spectacular mountains such as Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu and Ama Dablam.

We take a side trip to Ama Dablam Base Camp said to have the best views of any base camp in the Himalayas, then wind our way back to Lukla passing the famous monastery at Tengboche to return to Kathmandu.
